Text 1: Available on-line Text 2: Objective: The World Wide Web represents a paradigm shift for information transfer. Its client/server approach to information distribution presents few barriers to entry, therefore the field of information providers and thus information has exploded. This class will examine web-publishing technology and explore ways to exploit this technology. Students will: learn basic HTML, develop effective web pages utilizing multimedia and learn to plan, design and build a complete web site. Homework: Various projects will be assigned. Homework is due at the beginning of class on the due date. All late work will be penalized 5% per day to a maximum of 50%. Labs: Various labs will be started in class. These labs are designed to highlight a concept or skill. All labs must be completed and placed on the Blackboard within 24 hours after the end of class that they are started in. No make-up or late labs will be accepted without prior arrangement. Final Web site: Each member of the class will design and construct
a web site for a new start-up company. (I need to make this work in with your existing syllabus)
